Do I Add Another Baby to My Little World.......

I sit here till the wee hours (which usually spells trouble for me)wondering if I want to add another puggle baby to my fold.

What worries me is 1st a selfish one..I couldnt have another child so Lainey IS my second child. If I bring in another puggle will I loose Lainey will she want to be with the new puppy and not me.....Do I REALLY want to split my attention and affections to another baby. AS MUCH as I would take a car load of these most LOVING creatures, do I want to share?

Since our oldest Jade passed away in October, Chloe (our Lab)has aged she will be 9 in Five more days and is VERY lonely. She has really just started playing with Lainey and doing things with her....If I add another puggle and NOT a bigger dog for her, will she withdraw even more.

Would I LOVE more babies? Absolutely!!! Will it be Fair to my girls...Thats the MILLION dollar question that has kept me up for two nights running!

Comments, 2 cents, advise Feel free to add!!

A DOGS LOVE named LUCKY

Here is an email I received. BRING your tissue when you read this. Its a GREAT LOVE story :0) AND exactly how I feel about Lainey. I am hers and she is mine. (not trying to sound full of myself just stating the facts)

Lucky Dog....

Anyone who has pets will really like this. You'll like it even if you don't and you may even decide you need one!

Mary and her husband Jim had a dog named 'Lucky.'

Lucky was a real character. Whenever Mary and Jim had company come for a weekend visit they would warn their friends to not leave their luggage open because Lucky would help himself to whatever struck his fancy. Inevitably, someone would forget and something would come up missing.

Mary or Jim would go to Lucky's toy box in the basement and there the treasure would be, amid all of Lucky's other favorite toys Lucky always stashed his finds in his toy box and he was very particular that his toys stay in the box..

It happened that Mary found out she had breast cancer. Something told her she was going to die of this disease....in fact; she was just sure it was fatal.

She scheduled the double mastectomy, fear riding her shoulders. The night before she was to go to the hospital she cuddled with Lucky. A thought struck her...what would happen to Lucky? Although the three-year-old dog liked Jim, he was Mary's dog through and through. If I die, Lucky will be abandoned, Mary thought. He won't understand that I didn't want to leave him! The thought made her sadder than thinking of her own death.

The double mastectomy was harder on Mary than her doctors had anticipated and Mary was hospitalized for over two weeks. Jim took Lucky for his evening walk faithfully, but the little dog just drooped, whining and miserable.

Finally the day came for Mary to leave the hospital. When she arrived home, Mary was so exhausted she couldn't even make it up the steps to her bedroom. Jim made his wife comfortable on the couch and left her to nap.

Lucky stood watching Mary but he didn't come to her when she called. It made Mary sad but sleep soon overcame her and she dozed.

When Mary woke for a second she couldn't understand what was wrong. She couldn't move her head and her body f felt heavy and hot. But panic soon gave way to laughter when Mary realized the problem. She was covered, literally blanketed, with every treasure Lucky owned! While she had slept, the sorrowing dog had made trip after trip to the basement bringing his beloved mistress all his favorite things in life.
He had covered her with his love.

Mary forgot about dying. Instead she and Lucky began living again, walking further and further together every day. It's been 12 years now and Mary is still cancer-free. Lucky He still steals treasures and stashes them in his toy box but Mary remains his greatest treasure.

LAINEY WITH HER SISTERS (L)JADE (C) LAINEY (R) CHLOE

Looking at all the Puggle Blogs out there just makes me realize that Next to having my 2 legged Miracle Getting Lainey was the BEST, Fun, LOVING, Challenging, FILL MY HEART, Engaging, HUMOROUS I have done with my life ...Okay getting married to but...I LOVE her as much as my two legged baby....Lainey NEEDS me and I NEED her...and she makes me laugh at the most UNusual times. She is The 2nd most Smartest babies I have ever had, and THE MOST EXPRESSIVE four legged child I have EVER had!

The ears that flap over, the cupped hands that scoop the blankie or my arm if I am not paying attention. Laying on her back showing EVERYTHING she owns, the HOWLING which is my absolute FAV, needing to sleep UNDER the blankie NOT ontop....taking "HER SHOWER" by rolling and snorting in my towel from my shower. The all of a SUDDEN running BALLS out where her butt almost passes her head. Snuggling, always having to TOUCH me...which I also love. Seeing her face light up when you say "GRANDPA"! Knowing that she LOVES me no matter what I look like or what I do and is ALWAYS ready to give her Momma a BIG FAT SMOOCH!!!

I guess you can tell that I LOVE my girl I could go on and on but I think that UNLESS you have a PUGGLE I would just bore you.... I have had doggies MY WHOLE life and BIG ones I NEVER wanted a small yapper dog..... WELL I WAS WRONG!!! She has TOTALLY changed my life....and I wouldnt change a single solitary thing!!!!!!!!! :0)

My Journey of How to Deal with the Death of My Four Legged Child

This is a reprint from my Wordpress blog in Feb. Just thought it deserved to be rewritten!

Well we celebrated Christmas and Her Birthday. It was her First birthday in Heaven…and I am SMALL enough to say that I wanted Jade here….MY Jader girl who I used to say was a Low Maintenance girl…..as long as she had her 2 meals a day and her football Life Was Great!!! I can STILL see her Trying to get up the stairs. Tail going a mile a minute as it always did. Excited to GO anywhere BE anywhere. Jade was also the TIME KEEPER in the family. In the beginning she would start around 5, Than she would be messed up with the time change….but she would catch up. Than she started ALERTING us that it was getting close…4:45…4:00 and towards the end she couldnt get used to the time change and she was starting around 3:30 4:00…If I fed them Breakfast at 2:00 it wouldnt matter to her cuz Dinner time was Dinner time!!!……and dinner was at 5!!!!

I am writing this in a series of days…I get to overwhelmed and need to step back and take a breath..I can bury this DEEP in and writing brings it up…hence the breaks…

Jade came from my other puppy Noel. I bred her and Jade came from the second litter. She was the ONLY one to survive after poor Noel being in labor for 24 hours and a c-section. 6 Puppies and Jade being the survivor. We used to call her the “Elvis Puppy” because 8 nipples full of milk NO waiting. She took advantage of EACH and EVERY one of them TOOO!!!! She also lived with her Half Aunt Tasha. SADLY in Jades first year and a half she went from the baby of the house to the ONLY one in the house. I lost Tasha first in june from cancer and than 9 month later I lost Jades Momma Noel to Diabetes. I thought I would loose Jade too as I couldnt get her to eat for almost a WEEK.. I would call the Vet over and over and he would say…she will eat when she is ready. And it would break my heart to watch the ones left behind sit at the door WAITING for the ones who left, to return….

When we knew it was time for Jade I read an article saying that if you had a household with more than ONE four legged baby, that it might be wise (should you choose) to bring them with to the SAD day. When I told people that I want to do that They would look at me like i was Orange with Teal stripes!!!! The article went on to say that each DOG will mourn in their own way. WE were REALLY worried about Chloe since they were JOINED at thte hip and Jade was All Chloe knew. The slept ON each other they played together they followed each other….they were TRULY inseperable. So I wont go into details now but On that day here are 2 doc’s, Me, my daughter and 2 dogs in the room…..Chloe wouldnt even look at Jade…My daughter kept trying to get her to look and I said LET her do it HER way….she finally came over smelled Jade and than turned away….it was Lainey who came over and smelled her and licked her face and just…..i dont know……but as sad as it was Chloe or Lainey have sat at the door waiting for Jade to come home…and thats NOT to say that they didnt mourn her Chloe DID but at least they understood.

well I will post this but add more when the tears dry up…I thought I was running low BUT i was WRONG!!!

Pineapple and Poop eating

Yes dogs can eat pineapple!! I asked my vet about why my dogs eat their own poo and each others (YUK!!) and if there was anything I could do to stop them. He said I could either buy tablets or try the cheaper alternative, pineapple. Apparently there is something in pineapple that doesn't make the poo so tasty?? But I wouldn't give too much just incase it upsets their tummies.

Dog Tip: Stopping Dogs From Eating Poop (Coprophagia)

Does your dog have a dirty little secret?

A number of readers have contacted us about dogs who munch their own or other animals' feces. Here is background on the condition known as coprophagia, and what you can do to discourage doggie-do-eaters from this somewhat common, natural behavior that strikes humans as a disgusting gustatory pastime.

Background and principles:

* Coprophagia is a condition that compels dogs to consume feces.........http://www.paw-rescue.org/PAW/PETTIPS/DogTip_PoopEating.php

There are many schools of thought here I guess just keep trying different tricks until you find the one that works for you and your baby

P.S. I didn't know that this bad behavior had a name :0)

My opinion on State or City enforced Spaying/Neutering

I PERSONALLY DO NOT think that a city should tell me what I can and can NOT do with my four legged babies!! That decision is up to ME and MY Vet, and for us to decide WHEN it should be performed. We have decided to wait until several heats have passed. I do not WANT someone else to tell me the time frame for it to be done as NO ONE can agree as to when is the right time! I have already spayed 2 of my girls and my Cat, I have one more to go. The Finances of this procedure are ALSO is between ME and my VET, NOT the city or state of which I live. I DO NOT allow my dogs and kittys to ROAM the neighborhood. They are under my watch EVERY time they are outside and that is for their safety!

I am tired of GOVERNMENT telling me what to do in MY OWN HOME with my OWN FAMILY!

Do you really think that LAW ABIDING people are the ones being the so called "Backyard Breeders"? Do you REALLY think that a Law is going to STOP THEM! Dog fighting isn't allowed and that happens everywhere. Who is going to enforce these laws? How are they going to enforce these laws? Who is going to pay?

In this time of people losing their homes and giving their animals up because they cant afford FOOD for them, DONT need an OUTSIDER adding more financial hardships. For that matter how many PEOPLE arent able to take care of themselves either!

I LOVE my GIRLS with everything I have...As Much as my Daughter and I take their care VERY seriously, I just dont LIKE being TOLD HOW to take care of them by outsiders as a "One size fits all" attitude!

As with any decision I BELIEVE that it is BEST made between the individual and their Vet!
